Rick Snyder served as the Governor of Michigan between 2011-2019. Snyder is infamous for his role in the lead-contamination of the water supply in the city of Flint, Michigan.

The “Flint water crisis” as it became commonly referred to, resulted in deaths, illness, and caused irreversible neurological damage to countless children.

The crisis resulted in investigations and indictments within Snyder’s cabinet and inner-circle, but Snyder himself has not been prosecuted.

Some Michiganders expressed feeling as though Synder was looking out for the profits of his wealthy donors more than the health and well-being of the millions of Michiganders who elected him as Governor.

Many of the billionaires who supported Republican Rick Snyder happen to also be playing an active role in supporting Democratic presidential candidate, Joe Biden.

Here’s a list of some of the billionaires who supported Rick Snyder and are now supporting Joe Biden:

Mike Bloomberg, a former Republican himself, spent over $3 million to get Rick Snyder re-elected. Bloomberg said, “[Snyder is] an extremely competent guy who took on the unions to get Detroit and Michigan going in the right direction. And he was re-elected despite being attacked by the unions.”

IPJ investigators unearthed a video of Bloomberg and Snyder being interviewed together in 2014, in which Bloomberg says, “If the rest of this country had Governors as good as [Rick Snyder], we’d be a lot better off.”

Watch the video:

Bloomberg registered as a democrat in 2018 and ran for the democratic nomination for President, spending almost half a billion dollars on his campaign before ultimately dropping out and endorsing Joe Biden.

Katharine Rayner is a billionaire heiress to a communications company and donated to Rick Snyder in 2014. Rayner donated to Biden twice in 2019.

Eli Broad is a billionaire real estate mogul from California who, along with his wife, Edythe, both donated to Rick Snyder in 2014. The couple also donated to Joe Biden in 2019 and Eli reportedly attended a Biden fundraiser as recently as last month.
